NFL and the Integration of Sports, Causes, and Philanthropy

Today's episode is about creating meaningful relationships between influencers and nonprofits.

Join Dave and Carly as they welcome guest Kayla Bradham. Kayla is the host of Legacy After the Locker Room podcast, a member of the NFL Alumni Association, and Executive Vice President of the Sports Philanthropy Network.

Kayla is a strategic and inspirational influencer and pioneer in the world of sports philanthropy. Her story serves as an inspiring example of how passion and purpose can drive meaningful change.  She taught sports management at Northwestern, where she discovered her purpose to create stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities through sports.

Kayla instills the importance of purpose-driven initiatives in the next generation of sports industry leaders. Her impact goes well beyond the classroom, as she has worked closely with major sports leagues, including the NBA, NFL, MLB, and the NHL, to connect athletes, teams, and governing bodies with the causes that matter to them. On her podcast, Legacy After the Locker Room, former pro athletes share their experience in the field of sports. The athletes share amazing stories that have rarely been shared, including the most influential moments in their lives.

In today’s episode we’ll cover:

  • The starting point for nonprofits to engage with athletes, teams, or leagues.

  • What does the combination of business and philanthropy look like?

  • The power of athlete activism.

  • Kayla’s inspirational journey and her mission to make a difference in communities through sports philanthropy.

  • Teaching the next generation emphasizes the integration of purpose.

We hope you enjoy our conversation with Kayla Bradham!
